Human Rights Policy Development

The UN Guiding Principles for business and human rights require that all companies have a responsibility to respect human rights. There are many reasons why a company should develop a human rights policy.

Why do you need a human rights policy?

A policy is a means of demonstrating an organisation’s commitment to tackling modern slavery in their supply chains. The policy should set out the procedures that have been developed, or are being developed, to identify slavery and human trafficking risks in the organisation’s supply chains.

Organisations may decide to create a stand-alone modern slavery policy or incorporate one into a broader human rights policy.

What can Ardea do to help?

We can  develop your organisation’s human right’s policy taking into account the requirements of legislation and best practice principles, together with your company’s objectives. We have also distilled the UNGP”s guide on developing a human rights policy into an easy to use guide with 4 key steps to create one. Download our Human Rights Reporting Template if you want to save time and money to do it yourself.
