Preparing for Australia’s Modern Slavery Reforms and the EUFLR

About this workshop

Australia’s modern slavery regime is moving beyond disclosure. The Albanese Government has announced a proposed failure-to-prevent-modern-slavery offence for companies with annual consolidated revenue above AUS100 million, alongside civil penalties and stronger enforcement for non-compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2018. Australian businesses supplying the EU may also face market access bans under the EU Forced Labour Regulation from 14 December 2027. This interactive workshop will help businesses prepare by understanding the current legal framework and potential implications, and identifying practical steps to strengthen business practices, including risk assessment, supplier engagement, traceability, and remediation. Participants will apply the learning through a realistic case study.
