Procurement Manager, Brighton & Hove Albion FC 

Ted is a procurement professional working at Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, where he has established and now lead the club’s procurement function from the ground up. Operating within a complex elite-sport environment, Ted has been responsible for introducing governance, strategy, and commercial discipline across both operational and capital expenditure for a Premier League football club, with a specific focus on driving sustainable and ethical procurement practices. 

Robbie Newton

Senior Coordinator, Human Rights Watch

Robbie Newton is a Senior Coordinator at Human Rights Watch, where he works on human rights issues in the Asia region and at the intersection of sport and human rights. He previously worked at the Centre for Sport and Human Rights, where he supported the design and implementation of FIFA’s Human Rights Volunteer Programme at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Robbie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Sussex, a Master’s degree in International Development from Pompeu Fabra University, and recently completed a Master’s course in Business and Human Rights at the University of Bergen.

 

Colleen Theron 

CEO, Ardea International 

Colleen is a tri-qualified lawyer with over 30 years of experience in environmental law, business & human rights, and ESG. She has expertise in modern slavery, workers’ rights, supply chain due diligence, and stakeholder engagement. As a Fellow of IEMA, the professional sustainability association, and the Bakhita Centre for Research on Slavery, Exploitation, and Abuse at St Mary’s University, London, she holds significant industry recognition.

She serves as a board member of Lexis®PSL Environment and APSCA. Additionally, she lectures at Birkbeck Law School London, St Mary’s Twickenham, Kings College London, Westminster University, and the University of Pisa (MBA course). She holds an LLM in environmental law (with distinction) and is an ISEP accredited trainer. She has also authored numerous guides, books, and chapters, including a book on Sustainable Procurement.​

 

Rory Oake

Senior Consultant, Ardea International 

As a consultant at Ardea, Rory has contributed to a range of projects relating to modern slavery and sustainability, developing practical solutions to embed human rights due diligence across supply chains in line with the law and international standards. In his time at Ardea, Rory’s projects have involved clients in professional sports, finance, IT, manufacturing and agriculture sectors.
