The UK Modern Slavery Act came into force in October 2015. It is designed to tackle the problem of modern slavery and human trafficking in the 21st century. Section 54 sets out requirements for supply chain transparency. The regulations require that commercial organisations have to produce a slavery and human trafficking statement for each financial year and publish it on their website.
