The business case for sustainability. UBM Live’s third stakeholder forum held in London today was a very informative. There were opportunities to interact, network and see how the day was captured visually by INK Visual strategies: http://www.ink-site.com
We heard about Marks and Spencers Plan A (http://plana.marksandspencer.com), Shwopping! (http://www.marksandspencer.com/Shwop/b/1672188031Sc), Siemens work at the Crystal and engaging the local community and some case studies from suppliers. What struck me is that the key challenges for business’s, (large and small) implementing sustainability, still remains time and resource.
Here are eight tips, taken from a workshop facilitated by Global Action Plan (http://globalactionplan.org.uk) on the key aspects to consider for creating a business case for sustainability:
- operational efficiency
- brand value and reputation
- risk management
- employee benefit
- business growth
- businss opportunity
- And I would add leadership to the mix.
For companies considering sustainability reporting, we have a free guide, setting out examples of £££ s for these aspects available at www.clt-envirolaw.com/resources/
