Does your organisation know how well it is equipped to meet the mandatory reporting criteria when the UK Modern Slavery Act is updated?
The UK government has committed to extending the reporting requirement of the Modern Slavery Act to public bodies with a budget threshold of £36m or more. Ardea International’s Modern Slavery Act checklist can help public bodies to assess their preparedness to meet the requirement.
Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act sets the Transparency in Supply Chains (TISC) requirement, which obliges organisations to prepare and publish a slavery and human trafficking statement for each financial year. We have previously discussed how these changes are likely to affect public sector bodies.
The following Modern Slavery Act checklist can be used as a guide to carry out a preliminary assessment to evaluate whether the MSA will apply to a public sector body and how well equipped they are to meet the mandatory reporting criteria.
